The iPad Is The Most Wanted Christmas Gift This Year,
Apple Watch Comes In 12th

In order to prepare themselves for this Christmas season, Best Buy conducted a study on what will be the most popular tech gifts this year. Apple products appear three times on this 15 item list with the iPad ranking on the top of all. MacBook comes third and the Apple Watch 12th. Brand-wise, Bose and Samsung share the second rank having two products on the list: Noise Cancelling Headphones and Bluetooth Speaker by Bose, Ultra HD TV and Galaxy Tab S2 from Samsung.

These are the rock-star gadgets this year.

If you plan on buying one of these – better be quick. They might run out of stock.

1. Apple iPad

2. Bose QuietComfort 25 Acoustic Noise Cancelling Headphones

3. Apple MacBook

4. Samsung 48-Inch LED TV (2015 Model)

5. Sharp 43-Inch 1080p 60Hz Smart LED TV

6. Microsoft Surface

7. Bose SoundLink Mini Bluetooth Speaker II

8. Fitbit Charge HR Heart Rate and Activity Tracker

9. Samsung Galaxy Tab S2

10. Dyson V6 Absolute Bagless Cordless Vacuum

11. Vizio 43” Smart 4K Ultra HD TV

12. Apple Watch

13. SONOS PLAY:1 Wireless Speaker

14. iRobot Roomba Vacuum Cleaning Robot

15. GoPro HERO4 Action Camera

The Apple Watch, ranking in the twelfth spot, clearly defends it’s rank as the most popular smart watch although defeated by Fitbits Activity Tracker in the fitness assistant area.

The study found that millennials (people who reached young adulthood around the year 2000 and are now 18 – 34 years old) put consumer electronics at the top of their preferred gift lists. They perceive technology as “more fun and exciting” and “what they need” compared to other gift categories like clothing, books and jewelry.
Not much of a surprise is that, according to the study, men are tree times more fond of tech gifts than women.  28 persent of them prefer tech gifts whereas only 10 percent of the females expressed their preference for consumer electronics for gifts. Men find consumer electronics “more personal”. Women, on the other hand, characterize technology as a “useful” gift.
